Grammy Triumph Turns Sour: Rapper Killer Mike Detained in Los Angeles
Los Angeles: In a surprising turn of events at Sunday night’s Grammy Awards, rapper Killer Mike found himself in police custody after securing three major accolades for rap music, witnesses revealed.
While the Los Angeles police remained tight-lipped about the incident, two press officers on duty claimed to have no information regarding the rapper’s detainment. Social media footage captured police leading Killer Mike, with his hands cuffed behind his back, through the Crypto.com Arena concourse in Los Angeles.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, citing an arena security official, Killer Mike’s detention was reportedly related to an unspecified misdemeanor charge unrelated to the Grammy Awards.
Earlier in the day, Killer Mike and his collaborators celebrated victories in multiple Grammy categories, bagging awards for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance with “Scientists & Engineers” and securing the Best Rap Album title for “Michael.”
Born Michael Render, Killer Mike is renowned not only for his musical prowess but also for his activism on social issues such as racism and police brutality. As of now, neither his agent nor publicists have responded to requests for comment on the unexpected turn of events.
